Very Superstitious… The Top Ten Friday The 13th Songs!

Today marks Friday the 13th, and Stevie Wonder‘s 66th birthday!

We can’t help but think of Wonder’s classic song “Superstitious”: falling ladders, seven years of bad luck, and of course, 13-month old babies.

So what is it about the number thirteen that makes it so unlucky?

Some say it’s because Judas, Jesus’ betrayer, was the 13th person to sit down at the Last Supper. Others think 12 represents the idea of a dozen, flawless and complete; trying to up the ante and improve upon perfection will cause bad karma.

In honour of Stevie Wonder’s birthday, and his mega-hit song, we’re taking a look at five other hit songs that deal with the supernatural and forces beyond our control. Stay safe out there–all the bad luck will be over tomorrow!
