Guns N’ Roses fans itching for new music have a glimmer of hope.

Guitarist Slash has confirmed to 101 WRIF Meltdown that Guns N’ Roses has begun working towards new material.

As noted by Alternative Nation, Slash didn’t want to misguide fans by speaking too soon.

“Yeah, the thing is we hadn’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything,” says Slash. “You know how people promote shit and lie through their teeth? So I just wanted to be honest, and there was no telling what we were going to do at that point. But at this point, I do know we are going to do this one, and we’ve already started working on stuff. There you go.”

Rumours began circulating that new Guns N’ Roses material would be coming when a photo of Slash’s gear at singer Axl Rose’s home leaked a few weeks back.

“It’s funny, because there was a rumor I was over there, yeah,” says Slash. “It was before I had even been there. I was like Jesus Christ, that’s a pain in the ass and annoying. But I am excited about what we’ve got going on and everything, so it’s going to be cool. It’s awesome.”

The last album to bear the Guns N’ Roses’ name was 2008’s Chinese Democracy, but neither Slash nor bassist Duff McKagan were a part of the project. They rejoined the band in 2016.
