Original Santana Band’s First New Music In 45 Years!

We’ve heard Santana in different versions throughout the decades, but it’s clear fans have been aching for the original band to reunite.

And those hopes are coming to life with the upcoming release of album Santana IV. The earliest line-up features Carlos Santana (guitar/vocals), Gregg Rolie (keyboards/lead vocals), Neal Schon (guitar/vocals), Michael Carabello (percussion) and Michael Shrieve (drums).

Carlos has experienced plenty of success through multiple projects since the ’70s. 1999’s Supernatural has sold 30 million copies worldwide and features smash hit “Smooth”, ranked as the second most successful song of all time by Billboard.

But it looks like he’ll be trading in Rob Thomas for his original bandmates once again!

Rumours of the band joining forces again started circulating in February 2013.

“So far we have invited the original members like Greg Rolie from the first three albums,” Carlos told Noise11.

“It will be like Santana IV because we stopped at Santana III”.

III album was the last project that surfaced from this group, released in 1971.

Santana IV coming to fruition

Three years later, it looks like the album is starting to take shape. Carlos and the gang have released the first taste of the upcoming project with brand-new track “Anywhere You Want To Go”. Stream it below via iHeartRadio:
