1979 feels like another lifetime ago (and for the younger ones, it was…), but the music that came out over the course of those twelve months won’t die anytime soon.
With the sun setting on disco, new-wave and electronic music experiencing a jolt of inspiration thanks to technological advancements, and rock still bleeding through speakers on every corner, the late ’70s was a transitional time. The future of music felt uncertain, but even more so, music felt exciting.
