Aerosmith’s First Touring Van Found In Massachusetts Woods

A piece of Aerosmith history has been unearthed.

The hosts of History Channel’s antique scavenger show “American Pickers“, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, came across the band’s first touring van while filming in Chesterfield, Massachusetts.

When they came across the van, not much was known about the relic. The property owner stated that the vehicle was there when he purchased the land.

Wolfe reached out to his friend Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, who got in touch with current Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. Perry then reached out to Tabano, a founding member with the band from 1970-1972.

“I’m afraid to say how long it is, but it’s been like 40 years since we’ve been in this thing,” said Tabano in the episode that aired July 30. Tabano even had a photo of himself in the van.

The hosts bought the van from the owner for $25,000.

“It just reminded me of the humble beginnings and I look at where (the band has) gone today,” said Tabano. “It’s just amazing.”
